In its conclusions, the Council said that steps aimed at strengthening the country’s and the region’s security, stability, and prosperity will be pursued with determination against all threats to national unity from the terrorist organizations PKK/YPG, FETO, and ISIS, with the goal of achieving a “terrorism-free Turkiye.”
Turkiye’s National Security Council reaffirmed the country's readiness to assume full responsibility, together with its partners, for the reconstruction of Gaza and the establishment of lasting peace.
As to the war between Russia and Ukraine, the statement notes that Turkiye will continue its efforts to end the conflict, which is gradually increasing regional and global risks, including to Black Sea security, and to help establish a lasting peace.
Turkiye’s support for Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity was emphasized in the context of Israel’s recognition of the separatist region of Somaliland.
“In 2026, Turkiye will resolutely continue its multilateral efforts aimed at maintaining peace and establishing stability in various conflict and crisis zones across a broad geographical area, extending from the neighbouring region to Asia, Africa, and Europe,” the statement adds.
