site.btaAngel’s Estate Wins Top Award at Rose Wine Expo in Kazanlak
Angel's Estate Winery from Nova Zagora was named the big winner of the 14th Rosé Wine Expo in Kazanlak, taking home the prestigious Golden Kiliks Award for its debut brand Stallion Rose Selection, vintage 2024. The award was presented at the opening ceremony of the event, attended by Kazanlak Municipal Council Chairman Nikolay Zlatanov and Marie Madeleine Guallino, Deputy Mayor of Kazanlak's twin town Grasse (France).
Made from Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Grenache, the winning rosé received 87.67 points from an all-women tasting panel led by international wine judge Vili Galabova.
This year, 46 wineries from across Bulgaria entered the Golden Kylix competition, which meets EU-certified standards. The most competitive category was rosés blended from three grape varieties - the category won by Angel's Estate.
Additional awards included:
Best Product Design: Chateau Copsa (Rose Angelica 2024);
Silver for Product Design: Stallion Rose Selection;
Four gold and six silver medals went to 2024 vintage rosés;
Gold for naturally sparkling rosé;
Silver medals and certificates in categories including aged rosés, limited editions, and flavoured rosés.
The festival also recognized partners, innovators and efforts to preserve culinary traditions, including a gold medal for promoting Japanese traditional drinks and culture.
Held annually during Kazanlak's Rose Festival, the Rose Wine Expo, initiated by the local Dundakov family, is now a key event on Bulgaria's modern wine scene. This year's motto is "Wine Born to Win."
