A library with 250 donated books was opened at the Vratsa Hospital on Wednesday.

The library, which will be available to patients in several wards, is part of the Bibliotherapy campaign, initiated by Zornitsa Mihaylova from Montana. "This campaign is from the people for the people," Mihaylova emphasized as she thanked the dozens of donors and all the organizations that supported the initiative to have new hospital libraries in Montana and Vratsa. She noted that preparations are underway for opening libraries in the hospitals in Mezdra, Lom, Byala Slatina, and Kozloduy as well.

Dozens of residents and organizations donated over 1,600 books to a beauty salon in Vratsa, which is also a partner in the campaign.

Vratsa Hospital Director Keti Tsenova pointed out that patients in Ancient Greece were treated with theatre and reading, as they knew that taking care of the soul is just as important as taking care of physical health.
