The Parliamentary Committee on Prevention and Counteraction of Corruption approved the 2026 draft State Budget on first reading here on Wednesday with 12 votes in favour, 8 against, and no abstentions.

The planned expenditures for the Counter-Corruption Commission for next year amount to EUR 13,096,600, of which EUR 11,470,200 are allocated for personnel. The draft budget has been prepared in line with the proposal made by the Counter-Corruption Commission’s Chairperson during the budget procedure, explained Ralitsa Radkova, a State Expert at the Finance Ministry. She added that the budget ensures the necessary conditions for the Commission to carry out its functions and tasks.

The planned expenditures for the Commission for Forfeiture of Illegally Acquired Assets amount to EUR 8,634,900, including EUR 7,082,900 for personnel, Radkova added.

During the debate, MPs from Vazrazhdane and Continue the Change questioned the need for the planned increase of more than 50% in remuneration at the Anti-Corruption Commission.
