Marina Dinevi is the only marina in Bulgaria among the national sites that have received the Blue Flag award in 2025. The award is given by the Denmark-based Foundation for Environmental Education, with over 50 countries participating in the programme. In order to qualify for the Blue Flag, a series of stringent environmental, educational, safety, and accessibility criteria must be met and maintained.

Thus, Marina Dinevi once again showed that it is one of the emblems of the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, having strictly met the programme's criteria for the eighteenth consecutive year, Port Manager Kolyo Marinov said to BTA on Thursday. "The Blue Flag is not something you achieve once and then say that there are no problems. It requires consistency in good management, environmentally friendly practices, cleanliness, accessibility, safety, services with care for both people and the environment, which all of involved in the management of Marina Dinevi are committed to," he pointed out.

Marinov added that even though a large part of the criteria overlap with national legislation, the Blue Flag programme more concentratedly directs the owners of such infrastructure to the importance of not harming nature and of passing this on to the visitors as well. "For example, the clients of Marina Dinevi sign a declaration by which they adopt a certain behavior while at sea. We, as representatives of the Blue Flag programme, provide them with a small blue flag to wave on their boats as a sign that they comply with environmental management standards," Marinov noted.

The capacity of Marina Dinevi is for 300 vessels and offers the full range of services necessary for their operation and maintenance. The port accepts boats up to 32 metres in length and is equipped with a slipway for launching boats and a special lift for vessels. There are also facilities for refueling.

The port is open to any public and access is free for all sea lovers, Marinov emphasized.

BTA is presenting all 30 Bulgarian beaches and harbours awarded the Blue Flag by the international jury of the Programme in Copenhagen. It is the 30th anniversary of the first award for the country - the pilot Blue Flag was raised on Sunny Beach on July 4, 1995.
