site.btaIndustrial Production Down 12.6% in April, Y/Y

In April 2023, the calendar-adjusted index of industrial production showed a decline of 12.6% from this time last year, the National Statistical Institute said Friday. It has been the most significant annual decline since the beginning of 2023. 

A decline is seen in the production and distribution of electricity, heat and gas (by 38.7%), in the mining industry (by 10.5%), and in the mnufacturing industry (by 8.2%).

The April 2023 industrial production index is down 2.9% compared to March 2023, according to preliminary and seasonally adjusted data. Compared to the previous month, a decrease was seen in the mining industry (by 8.4%), in the production and distribution of electricity, heat and gas (by 6.9%), and in the manufacturing industry (by 3%).
