Deposits of households and non-profit institutions serving households (NPISHs) amounted to BGN 74.046 billion, or 41.9% of Bulgaria’s gross domestic product (GDP), at the end of April, Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) data showed on Thursday. That marked an increase of 9.5% compared to the same month of 2022.

According to the data, the deposits of non-financial enterprises amounted to BGN 40.688 billion at the end of April (23% of GDP) - an increase of 21.3% compared to the same period last year.

The statistics reported a 2.9% year-on-year decrease in deposits of financial enterprises in April, reaching BGN 3.912 billion (2.2% of GDP) at the end of the month.

The deposits of the non-government sector (non-financial corporations, financial corporations, households and NPISHs) amounted to BGN 118.646 billion (67.1% of GDP), with an annual increase of 12.8%.

Net domestic assets stood at BGN 86.950 billion - an 7.1% increase compared to April 2022 (3.4% annual increase compared to March 2023).
