The Ministry of Innovation and Growth and the European Space Agency (ESA) are organising awareness days on 3 and 4 April in Sofia on opportunities for Bulgarian companies and scientific organisations to participate in ESA's 9th call for proposals for Bulgaria. Caretaker Minister Alexander Pulev will open the event on Monday at Sofia Tech Park.

More than EUR 7 million have been awarded to 43 Bulgarian space projects under the ESA programme so far since 2015, when Bulgaria signed the first European Cooperating State Agreement with ESA. In total, eight calls for tenders have been held, which have received more than 130 Bulgarian project proposals.

The event will allow the exchange of experience between the leading Bulgarian companies in the space sector and new participants in the procedures. Successful practices from already implemented projects funded under the Plan for European Cooperating States will be presented.

Experts from the Agency will provide guidance on applying for the space programme. Free training courses will also be held to help Bulgarian companies and scientific organisations, which the Ministry contracted a few months ago.
