Bulgaria needs to develop significant renewable energy (RES) capacity, Maria Trifonova, Research Fellow at the Center for the Study of Democracy, said at a round table on the Roadmap to Climate Neutrality in Bulgaria, which is taking place in Sofia. Thursday. She pointed out that this country needs to install between 1 and 2 gigawatts of renewable projects on an annual basis over the next 10 years to be able to meet the climate neutrality targets.

Maria Trifonova reported that Bulgaria has not yet installed even 1 gigawatt of renewable energy capacity. In order to achieve these goals, our country needs to attract investors who have the knowledge and skills to implement such facilities without disrupting the system.
