Strong winds and ice storms destroyed the Kazanlak Municipality greenhouses for ecologically clean vegetables, the local administration said Wednesday.

The Kazanlak Municipality has been working for years to maintain the greenhouses in order to grow fresh quality food for children in nurseries and kindergartens, as well as for the Home Social Patronage service. The Municipality emphasized that thanks to the greenhouses, some 2,600 children and 364 elderly people in the municipality were provided with vegetables.

The municipal vegetable garden covers an area of ​​2,200 square metres in an old schoolyard in the Kazanlak village of Dolno Izvorovo.
