Bulgaria ranks fourth among EU Member States in the monthly increase in total market production in September 2025, the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) reported on Friday. 

Among countries for which data are available, the highest monthly increases in total market production in September 2025 were observed in Slovakia (2.8%), Austria (2.3%) and Bulgaria (2.2%). The only decrease was observed in Malta (-0.2%).

In September 2025, compared with August 2025, total market production increased by 0.4% in the European Union (EU) and by 0.1% in the euro area (EA). In August 2025, total market production had decreased by 0.7% in the EU and by 0.6% in the euro area.

The September 2025, monthly increase in total market production in the EU was driven by increases in industrial production (0.8%), and trade (0.6%). The production in construction and services remained unchanged in comparison with August 2025.

Compared with September 2024, in September 2025 total market production increased by 2.1% in the EU and by 1.8% the euro area (calendar adjusted data).
