National Conference on Cultural and Festival Tourism Opens in Varna

A National Conference on Cultural and Festival Tourism organized by the Ministry of Tourism together with the Viafest Foundation opens in Varna Tuesday. It is part of the 33rd Varna Summer International Theater Festival and aims to discuss strategies for developing cultural and festival tourism in Bulgaria, emphasizing the role of festivals in shaping the cultural identity of cities and supporting regional development.

The two-day conference entitled Bulgarian Festivals through the prism of tourism dynamics is open to everyone interested and provides opportunities for professional exchanges, new partnerships and concrete ideas for the development of the sector.

Topics under discussion include the social impact of festivals, the creation of a year-round festival calendar, and innovations in the sector.

The event brings together leading experts of the Tourism Ministry, representatives of local authorities from the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria, and professionals from the cultural and tourism industries such as hotel and restaurant associations, festival producers and managers, and aims to foster an active exchange of ideas and best practices for promoting festival tourism in Bulgaria.
