The National Museum of Military History in Sofia will celebrate May 6, the Day of Valour and the Bulgarian Army with free entrance from 10 am to 5 pm and a festive programme. Guests of the museum will get a chance to explore the permanent chronological outdoor exhibition. The temporary exhibitions “The Scars of War: Sofia's Lost Architectural Heritage” and “The Bulgarian Army - 20 Years Part of NATO” will also be open to the public.

Only on May 6, weather permitting, visitors will be allowed into the control cabins of some of the most significant exhibits in the outdoor exhibition - helicopters Mi-2, Mi-8 and a rocket system 2K52 Frog Luna-M.

The programme will continue at noon with a tasting of the iconic bean soup prepared by a military chef. Thanks to the Logistic Support Command, the visitors of the museums will have the opportunity to see up close a modern field kitchen of the Bulgarian Army and to get a glimpse of everyday soldier's life.

The representative brass band of the Army will play from 2:30 to 3:30 pm.

The holiday will also be celebrated with an Open Day in the Naval Museum and Park Museum “Vladislav Varnenchik” in Varna and the Aviation Museum in Krumovo.
