Serbian director Radivoje Andric will be a special guest at the upcoming 22nd edition of Sofia International Film Festival at the Coast in Burgas, on the Black Sea. He will present his latest film Dudes: Again!, and a retrospective of his older films, the event organizers from Art Fest said.

This will not be Andric's first visit to Burgas. He was already a guest at the first edition of the festival in 2003.

The director's new film Dudes: Again!, which is part of the programme, is a sequel to his second film Dudes (Munje, 2001), which film critics describe as "the first Yugoslav commercial underground film". Twenty-two years later, Dudes: Again! reunites the audience with some of the familiar characters - their reality has hardly changed, but their life surprises are different. The film presents a new generation of young people, struggling with their own challenges.

The screenplay is by Srdja Andjelic and the cast includes Sergej Trifunovic, Boris Milivojevic, Nikola Djuricko, Maja Mandzuka and Milica Vujovic.

After the screening of "Lightning Again!" at Dom NHK in Burgas, Radivoje Andric will talk about the production and engage in a discussion with the audience.

Radivoje Andrić is one of the most popular contemporary directors not only in Serbia, but also in the whole of Southeastern Europe. In 2022, Radivoje Andrić was a member of the International Jury at the 26th Sofia Film Festival and presented his film How I Learned to Fly, an adaptation of the book of the same name by Jasminka Petrović, one of the most beloved and internationally published Serbian writers. How I Learned to Fly was awarded Best European Film at the European Association of Children's Films in Malmö, Sweden '22, received the Silver Seagull for Best Film at the Sofia Film Fest on the Coast '22 in Burgas and was watched by thousands of fans of Andrić's craftsmanship across Europe.

The 22nd Sofia Film Fest on the Coast will take place between March 21 and 29, 2024, at the cultural space Dom NHK in Burgas, on the Black Sea. It will open with the film Fallen Leaves by Aki Kaurismaki, and right after it will premiere the documentary about the Burgas Drama Theatre Adriana Budevska by director Slavi Georgiev, entitled Beyond the Curtain. In addition to a selection of local and international titles, the audience will be able to watch 12 short films. The feature-length ones will compete for one of the two big prizes - that of Burgas Municipality and that of the audience. The accompanying programme also includes a screening for the visually impaired, a film-themed exhibition and a literary evening. For the sixth consecutive year, alongside the festival will be held the Cinemaclass Burgas, led by director Nadezhda Koseva, whose latest film Patch will close the festival in the seaside town on March 28.
