site.btaBulgaria's BTA, Iran's IRNA Sign Memorandum of Cooperation
The Managing Director of Iran's Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Ali Naderi and Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) Director General Kiril Valchev, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on Saturday. The signing was part of the 18th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media, which is taking place during the 120th Rose Festival in Kazanlak.
The Memorandum provides for each agency to receive the other agency's news services, including photographs and bulletins in English, and both agencies are entitled to use this information in their news services.
In addition, each agency will provide the other one with one article in English and a photograph every day covering a significant news story from its country. The other agency will post the article in its distribution channels for free reading.
The agreement also provides for the option to exchange professional experience between journalists from the two agencies.
During the forum, BTA signed four similar agreements with the following agencies: Algeria's APS, Vietnam's VNA, Spain's EFE and Cote d'Ivoire's AIP.
So far, BTA has 24 such daily news exchange agreements: with Albania, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Cyprus, Croatia, Ghana, Greece, Israel, Italy, Montenegro, Kosovo, Lebanon, Liberia, Moldova, Mongolia, Nigeria, North Macedonia, the Philippines, Poland, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and the United Arab Emirates.
BTA organizes the 18th World Meeting of the Bulgarian Media in Kazanlak from June 1 to June 4, 2023, with the assistance of the Municipality of Kazanlak, the 13 Centuries Bulgaria National Endowment Fund, Aurubis Bulgaria, Doverie Pension Assurance Company, Post Bank, A1 and Nestle Bulgaria AD.
