Argentina will join Pazardzhik Municipality's project "The garden of the world", the municipality administration said on Wednesday, after Argentine Ambassador to Bulgaria Alfredo Atanasof visited the town. The project will encompass two stages - one with flora from countries, whose climate is similar to the Bulgarian climate, and another with flora and exotic birds from warmer regions.

Pazardzhik Mayor Todor Popov said that more than 80 countries will take part in the project.

"The garden of the world" was launched on September 23, 2022, with a symbolic groundbreaking by Bulgarian football legend Hristo Stoichkov and Mayor Popov, which was attended by ambassadors, consuls and diplomats. The project carries a message of peace, solidarity and empathy.

The Garden aims to become the largest area in the Balkans that hosts plant species from Bulgaria and the world. Each country that agreed to participate in the project will provide one of its traditional plants. The Garden will also offer a space for exhibitions and art forums.
