Commenting on the Sofia City Court deciding to annul the election of Vesela Lecheva as President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC), BOC Secretary General Danail Dimov told reporters here on Sunday that it is absolutely unlawful and contains glaring errors, which is why it will be appealed.

Dimov said: "Having familiarized myself with what your colleagues announced, and with the judge's reasoning, I can say once again that, in my opinion, this is a completely unlawful decision. There are glaring errors in the decision, [...] such as the interpretation of the deadline for Ms Lecheva's candidacy, the legal grounds on which the judge relies, and her entire interpretation."

The Secretary General described the decision as abuse of justice. He reported that he had been warned that "This judge will us," and added that hopefully the appeal will go to an independent judge who does not act as a puppet.

Dimov reported: "From here on, the proceedings continue. Ms Lecheva will travel to the Olympic Games in Italy. Stefka Kostadinova simply cannot travel, no matter how many judges they buy or how many judges they get. She is not on the list at all, as she has been struck off by the International Olympic Committee. There is no way this can happen, and that is the worst thing. [...] The idea is for Stefka Kostadinova to remain in her position for as long as possible. Why? There are several interpretations, but I will spare you all of them for now, because that would mean speaking without paper evidence. If one day we get in, then I will speak with documents, and everyone will understand what this is all about." He was adamant that Lecheva and her team will fight for as long as it is necessary and will speak out, if they witness corrupt justice.
