The 25th Bansko Jazz Festival came to an emotional close on Saturday evening thanks to Portuguese star Salvador Sobral.

Sobral, who won the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest for his country, admitted that this was his first time Bulgaria but proved that he had no language barrier with the thousands crowding the town's central square for the last night of the event.

The 2022 edition of the Festival (August 6-13) featured more than 250 entrants from 16 countries who staged 29 concerts altogether. Peformers included Radz of Ukraine, Rosalia de Souza of Brazil, Dafna Levi of Israel, Soulcrane of Germany, the George Cables Quartet and drummer Billy Cobham of the US, and singer Ada Montellanico.

Organized by Bansko Municipality and the Festivals in Bulgaria Association, the 26th Bansko Jazz Festival will take place between August 5 and 12, 2023.
