The eighth edition of the Bulgarian Heritage Forum brings together in Balchik, on the northern Bulgarian Black Sea coast, representatives of the Bulgarian communities from Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, as well as historians and literary scholars from Bulgaria, forum director Marusya Kostova told BTA.

The meeting starts on August 24 with a scientific conference on Bulgarian literary classic Yordan Yovkov.

A photo-documentary exhibition on the writer's life and creative work has already been arranged at the local culture and information centre.

The forum will also dedicate its forthcoming edition to the topic of the ethnology of the Bulgarians.

More than 50 ensembles are expected for the forum's folklore program in the days until August 26, including a choir from Braila and amateur singers from Negru Voda in Romania, an ensemble from Moldova, singers and dancers from Bessarabia and many Bulgarian performers.
