site.btaNational Library to Celebrate 147th Anniversary on December 10

The National Library will mark the 147th anniversary of its establishment on December 10 in the Central Foyer of the cultural institution, the hosts said on Friday.

The team noted that the celebration will be accompanied by the opening of the exhibition “Stories from Glagolitic Times”, organized with the support of Foreign Ministry's State Cultural Institute and the Institute for Bulgarian Language at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The exhibition will present images from medieval manuscripts that tell stories from the life of the Glagolitic script. The author is Prof. Yavor Miltenov.

The Library also announced that facsimile copies of the Rila Glagolitic Sheets, dated to the late 10th or early 11th century, will be on display.
