Parliament is expected to discuss at first reading amendments to the Health Insurance Act, according to the draft programme of the National Assembly for this week. The changes were submitted by the Council of Ministers and are listed as the first item on the proposed agenda.
The draft amendments to the Health Insurance Act propose changes in two main directions – the implementation of legislative requirements related to the national Recovery and Resilience Plan, and the introduction of a regulation under which representatives of the Bulgarian Association of Healthcare Professionals will be invited by the Bulgarian Medical Association to take part in the negotiations for the conclusion of the National Framework Agreement, Health Minister Silvi Kirilov said. He presented the proposed amendments at a meeting of the parliamentary Health Committee last week.
The parliamentary draft programme for this week also includes, at first reading, amendments to the Act on the Protection of Persons Threatened in Connection with Criminal Proceedings and to the Consumer Protection Act. The proposed agenda also features the first reading of amendments to the Public Enterprises Act, submitted by Anna Aleksandrova (GERB–UDF) and a group of MPs.
The first item on Thursday is expected to be the procedural rules concerning the conditions and procedures for nominating candidates for the post of Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency and the process for their election by the National Assembly. After that, MPs are expected to consider at second reading amendments to the Defence and Armed Forces Act of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The proposed agenda also includes ratifications of international documents to which Bulgaria is a party.
The first item on Friday’s agenda is the Programme for Exercising Rights over State-Owned Property and over Property Owned by State and Public Enterprises, adopted by Decision No. 289 of the Council of Ministers in 2025. A regular parliamentary question time is scheduled to follow.
