site.btaGallup International Balkan Poll Puts GERB in First Place if Elections Were Held Next Sunday

GERB-UDF would be in the lead with 27.4% support if elections were held next Sunday, according to a Gallup International Balkan poll published on Tuesday.
This is GERB's highest result so far this year. The government’s actions have played a key role in bolstering the party's electoral support, including consistent work on key issues such as joining the eurozone, implementing the Recovery and Resilience Plan, and maintaining economic stability, according to the polling agency. In a July survey, the party received 25.7% support.
The latest survey confirms confidence in the government majority and the stability of the Cabinet. At the same time, there is a mobilization of the core opposition bases.
MRF-New Beginning is in second place with 17.5% support, according to Gallup International Balkan. This result stems from the resolution of internal turbulence and the regaining of public support. The sociologists recall that, in the June 2024 elections, the formation emerged as the second-largest political force, securing more than 17% of the vote.
Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) is in third place with 13.9%. So far, there are no consistent signs of recovery in their broader electoral base.
Vazrazhdane is next with 13.4%. According to the agency, this reflects the waning of the party's peak activity on issues such as the planned introduction of the euro and geopolitical controversies.
The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) - United Left remains within its traditional range of recent years with 7.6% support, failing at this stage to expand its influence beyond its core electorate.
Smaller parties also remain relatively stable, albeit in more limited electoral segments: There Is Such a People (TISP) 5.8%, Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) 5.7%, and Velichie 4.3%. TISP's result came before the party submitted a bill to amend the Penal Code, proposing to criminalize the dissemination of information about a person's private life without their consent.
The Alliance for Rights and Freedoms (ARF) would remain below the 4% electoral threshold with 1.2% support.
There are no significant shifts in trust in senior government officials and party leaders.
Distrust is highest in Continue the Change leader Assen Vassilev at 75.7%, followed by Yes, Bulgaria Co-chair Bozhidar Bozhanov and Democratic Bulgaria Co-chair Atanas Atanassov, both at 75.1%, MRF leader Delyan Peevski and TISP leader Slavi Trifonov, both at 69.7%, Yes, Bulgaria Co-chair Ivaylo Mirchev at 69.3%, Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov at 65.2%, and GERB leader Boyko Borissov at 64.7%. Distrust is lowest for MECh leader Radostin Vasilev at 55.7%.
The survey is nationally representative of the adult population of the country. It was conducted between September 29 and October 12 among 904 adult citizens using face-to-face interviews. The survey is part of the independent research programme of Gallup International Balkan and is financed with its own funds.
