The power supply in the Elenite resort village remains suspended, the Burgas regional administration's press centre said on Saturday. The operational headquarters held a meeting to outline the next steps. It was attended by regional governor Vladimir Krumov, Burgas police chief Chief Commissioner Vladimir Marinov, and the head of the Burgas fire department, Commissioner Nikolay Nikolaev.

The administration added that the situation in the Burgas region was gradually stabilizing.

Teams from the Fire Safety and Civil Protection Directorate, the police, and the gendarmerie remained on site in Elenite on Friday evening.

Regional Governor Vladimir Krumov has requested additional forces and resources from military units from the Defence Ministry. On the ground, five fire brigade teams, 30 Interior Ministry personnel, representatives of Nessebar Municipality’s defence and security unit, and volunteers continue working to ensure fire safety.

Volunteers from Plovdiv and Burgas will take part in cleanup operations and assist people affected by the disaster, the Burgas Regional Administration's press centre said.

Sveti Vlas Mayor Ivan Nikolov said that around 110 people evacuated from the flooded areas passed through the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) point at the town hall, where they received first aid and psychological support.

Initial reports indicate that the total number of evacuees exceeds 200, all of whom have been accommodated in local hotel complexes.

No calls were received on Friday evening on the 112 emergency number reporting stranded citizens or vehicles. At present, no residents are awaiting evacuation or require assistance, the regional administration noted.

Inspections of the damaged buildings are pending to determine their stability and habitability. Specialized commissions will then assess the damage and recommend the necessary restoration measures.

The severe weather across the country has caused major damage, with three people losing their lives in the devastating floods in Burgas.
