Vazrazhdane MP Tsoncho Ganev argued on Friday that the ruling coalition is currently collapsing, the Government is ready to fall, and those who declare themselves to be in opposition refuse to support a vote of no confidence. Speaking to journalists in Parliament, he added that the Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) parliamentary group stated it would not sign Kostadin Kostadinov's party's request for a sixth vote of no confidence due to the drought, as the arguments were five pages long and unfounded, and the problem was much more complex.

Ganev said that they were five signatures short and therefore turned to MECh. He recalled that on Thursday, "GERB-UDF Floor Leader Boyko Borissov directly attacked Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov over the water crisis, accused the ministers of not doing their job and pointed to the prime minister as the main culprit." "Several regional cities are under water restrictions, which escalated at the beginning of the summer, so back in July, Vazrazhdane prepared a vote of no confidence because of the water crisis," Ganev said. According to him, at that time, of all the formations that declared themselves to be in opposition, only Velichie signed. "The Alliance for Rights and Freedoms (ARF) refused, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria also disagrees at the moment," said the MP. Ganev added that MECh had requested Vazrazhdane Floor Leader Kostadin Kostadinov to personally ask them and that they would consider it if he did. "They are not interested in bringing down the Government or in arguments, but in someone begging them," Ganev said.

According to him, the issue is extremely important and could lead to the Cabinet's resignation. Against this backdrop, [Continue the Change Chair] Assen Vassilev refuses, [Yes, Bulgaria Co-Chair] Ivaylo Mirchev refuses, ARF also refuses, as does [MECh Floor Leader] Radostin Vasilev," Ganev listed. "It does not matter what anyone says, what matters is what they do, because we support all votes of no confidence, no matter how unfounded they may be," added the Vazrazhdane MP. "MECh refuses to give five votes and start a debate," he said.

According to Ganev, after each vote, "the political situation in the National Assembly and in the country changes dramatically, [Movement for Rights and Freedoms Floor Leader Delyan] Peevski is becoming stronger and stronger and is taking over GERB, Borissov's party is about to be taken over."

Regarding the problem with the quorum in the chamber, which prevented Parliament from holding a single plenary session this week, Ganev said that this National Assembly does not have the majority to reach a quorum and should be dissolved.
