site.btaUDF Leader Hristov: September 6 Among Most Important Dates After Bulgaria’s Liberation

“September 6 is one of the most important dates after Bulgaria’s liberation from Ottoman rule - a date that made possible not only the political and territorial unification of the country, but also the uniting of the Bulgarian people,” Rumen Hristov, chairman of the Union of Democratic Forces (UDF), told journalists on Saturday.
Hristov attended the official ceremony in Sofia marking the 140th anniversary of Bulgaria’s Unification, held at the ossuary of Prince Alexander I Battenberg. “In my view, this is an important beginning for Bulgaria’s rise, for which we are grateful to those who accomplished it,” Hristov added.
The day was honoured with a minute of silence and the laying of wreaths at the ossuary on behalf of state institutions and parliamentary groups. Attending the ceremony were Justice Minister Georgi Georgiev, Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev, MPs, and guests.
