“September 6 is a date when many forces in Bulgaria and abroad want to divide us, but we Bulgarians must resist and be sure that we are strongest when we are together,” Ivaylo Mirchev, co-chair of Yes, Bulgaria party, told journalists on Saturday.
Mirchev attended the ceremony marking the 140th anniversary of the Unification of the Principality of Bulgaria with Eastern Rumelia and laid flowers at the ossuary of Prince Alexander I Battenberg.
The day was honoured with a minute of silence and wreath-laying at the ossuary on behalf of state institutions and parliamentary groups.
