Bulgarian President Rumen Radev will pay a working visit to Germany on August 27 and 28, the head of State’s press secretariat said on Monday. In Berlin, Radev will confer with his German counterpart, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
At the invitation of Armin Papperger, CEO of Europe’s largest defence company Rheinmetall, President Radev will also attend the official inauguration of a state-of-the-art plant in Unterluss, Lower Saxony.
The Bulgarian head of State’s visit to Germany follows up on his meeting with Papperger during the Munich Security Conference in February 2025, where specific areas of investment and industrial cooperation with Bulgaria’s defence sector and research community were identified.
As a result of that meeting, Papperger visited Bulgaria in March at Radev’s invitation, holding talks at the presidential institution with leading representatives of the defence industry and the executive branch.
