A helicopter arrived on site to help extinguish the fire that engulfed the Loznitsata area near Bulgarovo (on the Black sea), a BTA reporter saw on Saturday. Houses, both inhabited and uninhabited, have burned down in the area, property owners said.

Dozens of yards, agricultural buildings, and crops have been destroyed. There are still numerous firefighting teams in the area, battling the flames on several fronts. One of these is near Bulgarovo.

Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov told BTA that there are people who have been gassed and evacuated from Bulgarovo. He added that strong winds are hampering the firefighting teams.

At present, the fire has engulfed a mixed forest near the villa zone in the Loznitsata area and the town of Bulgarovo.

The helicopter that arrived at the scene is from the military base in Krumovo.

The Burgas Mayor issued an order declaring a partial state of emergency.
