site.btaPresident Radev to Attend Naval Academy Commissioning Ceremony in Varna
Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev will visit Varna on Sunday to attend a formal ceremony at which the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy’s Class of 2025 cadets will be awarded their first officer ranks, according to the head of State's Press Secretariat.
As President and Commander-in-Chief, Radev will be welcomed by a guard of honour at the Sea Station. The flags of the Navy ships will be ceremonially raised on the occasion of the Bulgarian naval forces' anniversary.
During the ceremony, Radev will present the top cadet with a diploma and shoulder straps. The President will also address the young officers and guests.
Forty-four cadets will receive their first shoulder straps and diplomas, the top performer among them being midshipman Nikolay Tenchev, the Defence Ministry said.
Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov and Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov will also attend, presenting awards to the top-performing cadets in each specialty.
