Bulgarian National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova held a meeting with Fayzali Idizoda, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan, during the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva, the Bulgarian Parliament said in a press release on Wednesday. The forum is jointly organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the United Nations, and the Swiss Parliament.

Kiselova emphasized that Tajikistan is an important partner for Bulgaria in the Central Asian region. She highlighted Bulgaria’s interest in gradually building a partnership based on mutual benefit, equality, and cooperation in areas of shared interest.

She reminded her Tajik counterpart that in May 2025, a Bulgarian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov participated in the high-level international conference on glacier preservation held in Dushanbe. Kiselova voiced hope that the bilateral meetings held during that visit would help give fresh momentum to bilateral relations, including parliamentary cooperation between the two countries. She reaffirmed Bulgaria’s interest in further developing trade and economic ties with Tajikistan.

Fayzali Idizoda also expressed satisfaction with the bilateral talks held in May in Dushanbe and confirmed his institution’s readiness to deepen the dialogue between the two parliaments.
