site.btaMECh Chair: We Will Hold Individual Talks on Upcoming Vote of No Confidence with Everyone Except Vazrazhdane

Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) Chair Radostin Vasilev said Wednesday that the parliamentary group will hold individual meetings on their upcoming vote of no confidence proposal with all the other political forces except Vazrazhdane. Later in the day, the MECh leadership will invite representatives of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB), Vazrazhdane, Alliance for Rights and Freedoms (ARF) and Velichie to joint talks on the motives for the fifth vote of no confidence against the Cabinet.
Vasilev indicated that they have received a letter from CC-DB for an individual meeting. "We will take the opportunity to talk about their vote of no confidence," he said in reference to the upcoming meeting.
"We have already made a meeting with [Velichie Floor Leader] Ivelin Mihaylov and Velichie, who would be the only ones respecting today's meeting. He received the folder with the reasons that we will file when we decide to file the no-confidence motion," Vasilev added.
"The only ones who did not respond are the Vazrazhdane parliamentary group," Vasilev noted. Earlier on Wednesday, Vazrazhdane insisted that the no-confidence motion should be tabled as early as Thursday, and that there was no point in meeting at the initiative of MECh.
Vasilev also said that unless such general talks are initiated, such no-confidence votes look like their aim is to support the Government, not to bring it down. "We do not understand Vazrazhdane's behavior, we do not understand why they refused," he said.
He pointed out that they perceived Vazrazhdane MP Tsoncho Ganev's statement that Thursday was the deadline for MECh vote as an “ultimatum”. "The only opposition party that can get support from everybody is MECh - from CC-DB, Velichie and Vazrazhdane. Vazrazhdane itself has no such support. For us, it is not a question of depositing a no-confidence motion tomorrow at any cost and crystallizing the stability of the Government, but rather the idea is to use this parliamentary procedure meaningfully," Vasilev explained.
Preliminary talks indicate that a no-confidence vote is more likely to be held in early September. “For me, Vazrazhdane has no argument to refuse MECh's very well-intentioned and serious request to unite everyone else,” Vasilev said.
He specified that their meeting with ARF will take place on Wednesday.
