site.btaTrakia Motorway Closed to Traffic in Pazardzhik Region due to Dense Smoke

Trakia motorway was completely closed for traffic Monday in both directions between Kalugerovo and the Tserovo road junction, Pazardzhik region, due to smoke after dry grass and stubble caught fire, the spokesperson of the Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry in Pazardzhik, Miroslav Stoyanov, announced.

Traffic has been redirected due to the still burning grass and dense smoke, Stoyanov explained. Traffic police teams have been deployed in the area. They are assisted by patrols of the Pazardzhik police.

Stoyanov also said that firefighters were putting out a fire in the area between Peshtera and the village of Byaga. Two firefighting teams from Plovdiv have been sent to battle the fire which has spread to the forest.
