site.btaUPDATED Anti-Corruption Commission Conducts Raid in Varna, Continue the Change Describes It as Political Attack

The Anti-Corruption Commission is conducting a raid here on Tuesday under the supervision of the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, the prosecution service told BTA.
Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) MP Bogdan Bogdanov wrote in his Facebook page that Varna Mayor and Blagomir Kotsev, who was elected on the ticket of CC-DB, has been detained. The Varna Municipality on the other hand reported that they were not aware of the situation. According to Kotsev’s lawyer, who spoke to Capital.bg, no arrest warrant had been issued for the Mayor as of 5:30 p.m..
Continue the Change (CC) Co-Chair Assen Vassilev said in an interview for bTV that the raid was "ordered by certain people" and was adamant that it was a political attack. He added: "In my opinion, [Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning Leader Delyan] Peevski and the circle of people around him buy mayors. When they cannot buy them, they threaten them."
Vassilev was adamant: "You will neither stop us nor scare us. We will continue to prevent you from robbing the Bulgarian people."
More details on the case are expected to be announced on Wednesday.
