The National Assembly Wednesday adopted conclusively without debate amendments to the Recognition of Professional Qualifications Act. Some of the revisions concern the automatic recognition of the professional qualifications of general nurses trained in Romania. Others relate to updating the minimum requirements for dental and pharmacy specialists.
Under the amendments, proof of professional qualifications in the profession of nurse acquired in Romania by citizens of EU Member States shall be recognised by Bulgaria if accompanied by a certificate of professional qualification obtained on the basis of a special programme for upgrading qualifications, Diploma de licenta, in accordance with the Joint Order of Romania's Minister of Education and Research and Minister of Health. The documents must also include an annex to the diploma stating that the student has completed the special programme for upgrading qualifications.
Certificates of professional qualification obtained after completion of secondary education are recognised, provided that there is also a certificate of professional qualification obtained on the basis of a special programme for upgrading qualifications, Certificat de revalorizare a competentelor profesionale.
