The National Assembly will consider the requests of the Acting Prosecutor General that the MP immunity be lifted for two members of the Democracy, Rights and Freedoms (DRF) group and four members of the Vazrazhdane group. This is the first item on Parliament's agenda for Thursday.

The requests to strip of immunity MP Dzheyhan Ibryamov and Mario Rangelov of DRF as well as MPs Slavcho Krumov, Ivaylo Tchorbov, Yordan Todorov, and Nikola Dimitrov of Vazrazhdane were submitted back in February. The immunity waiver requests targeting Ibryamov and Rangelov are over two separate investigations. The four MPs of Vazrazhdane were allegedly involved in unlawful acts during a February 22 protest in front of the European Commission Office in Sofia, organized by the far-right nationalist party against Bulgaria’s planned accession to the euro area. On April 7, another immunity waiver request against Rangelov was filed in connection with a new pretrial procedure over his suspected asking for and accepting a bribe to exert influence in public procurements for two schools.

On May 2, MP Yavor Bozhankov from Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria tabled in Parliament four draft resolutions on the lifting of the immunity of the MPs of Vazrazhdane.
