The team of the Military Medical Academy that returned from a four-month mission in Mali, was awarded for the successful implementation of their tasks. They were part of the European Union Training Mission in Mali (EUTM Mali), the press centre of the Military Medical Academy said Tuesday.

Lieutenant Dr Dilyara Marinova and her team were awarded on behalf of the Defence Minister and the Commander of Joint Forces Command.

Lieutenant Dr Marinova commented that she and her team cannot but be proud of the respect felt in Mali towards the Bulgarian Army and the Bulgarian medicine. “This is respect towards every Military Medical Academy team thus far,” she added.

The head of the Military Medical Academy, Major General Prof Ventsislav Mutafchiyski, congratulated the team on the successful completion of the mission. “Our work is team work, and one person is nothing without their team,” he commented.

On January 25, a new team left for Mali to join the EUTM Mali for the next four months. The Bulgarian medical workers will look after the health of the staff at the Mission Force Headquarters in the capital Bamako.
