The caretaker government is allocating EUR 65 million for the snap parliamentary elections on April 19, Prime Minister Andrey Gurov announced at the beginning of the first regular meeting of the new Council of Ministers on Monday.

"We have a task that is both simple and difficult at the same time. Simple because we all know what we have to do, and difficult because we know that it will not be met with applause", said Gurov. He described the upcoming elections as not an expense but an investment in the credibility of the government. In his words, the EUR 65 million that are being allocated are not for the government and the parties, but for the election process.

He added that funds will go towards the remuneration of the members of the election commissions, for training purposes and for the explanatory campaign of the Central Election Commission.
