Police in Kraljevo, central Serbia have arrested two locals on suspicion that, acting jointly, they “prepared an act against the constitutional order and security of Serbia” in connection with the criminal offence of “undermining the constitutional order”, Serbia’s Ministry of the Interior said, as quoted by local media.

The two detainees are suspected that between December 2025 and February 2026 they organized a violent change of Serbia’s constitutional order and the overthrow of the highest state authorities by arranging the procurement of weapons and planning an attack on the life of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, his wife and their children, the statement said, as reported by RTS.

They are also suspected of planning attacks on officials of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior in a way that would cause bodily harm, the ministry added.

The suspects have been detained for up to 48 hours.
