As of Tuesday, a 24-hour vignette for passenger cars is being introduced, providing an additional option for short-term use of the republican road network, the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) reported.

The one-day vignette will be valid for 24 hours from its starting date and time. For example, if it is activated at 10:00 am on February 5, it will be valid until 09:59 am on February 6. Its price is EUR 4.09. The new vignette, as well as the other types, can be purchased with a deferred start of up to 30 days prior to the travel date.

According to RIA, the 24-hour vignette, along with the other vignette types, is valid for passenger cars of up to 3.5 tonnes, for trailers and caravans, as well as for motor caravans of category M1, regardless of their technically permissible maximum mass. A separate vignette for a trailer or caravan is required only if, when attached to the vehicle, the total weight exceeds 3.5 tonnes. The vignettes for the vehicle and for the trailer or caravan may have different durations depending on need.

In 2026, vignette prices remain the same as in 2025 and are displayed in both euros and leva. Conversion is carried out automatically at the official fixed exchange rate, with no additional action required from users. The vignette prices are as follows: annual - EUR 49.60 (BGN 97), quarterly - EUR 27.61 (BGN 54), monthly - EUR 15.34 (BGN 30), weekly - EUR 7.67 (BGN 15), and weekend - EUR 5.11 (BGN 10).

In addition to the website of the National Toll Administration or its mobile application, vignettes can also be purchased through the other RIA sales channels, including at service counters with cash payment or via self-service terminals using bank cards. Vignettes are also available through RIA’s partner network.

In July 2025, Parliament approved the introduction of 24-hour vignettes for passenger cars of up to 3.5 tonnes using the republican road network, through the adoption at second reading of an omnibus bill amending the Roads Act.

More than 558,000 electronic vignettes worth nearly BGN 32 million were purchased in January 2025, the Road Infrastructure Agency reported in February 2025. Traditionally, annual vignettes are the most popular in the first month of the year, followed by weekly, weekend, monthly and quarterly vignettes.
