site.btaBGN 631,665 Allocated in Scholarships to 788 Talented School Children

The Council of Ministers has approved BGN 631,665 for scholarships for 788 school students with distinguished abilities, the government information service said on Wednesday. The funding will provide financial incentives for 529 children from municipal schools, 205 pupils from state-financed educational institutions and 27 pupils from private schools.

The funds are allocated under the 2025 programme of measures for children with distinguished abilities, adopted by a Council of Ministers decree. They will cover scholarships awarded in 2024 and 2025.

A total of BGN 446,310 will be transferred to 57 municipalities to support students attending municipal schools. In addition, Sofia Municipality and the municipalities of Varna, Dobrich and Veliko Tarnovo will receive BGN 21,465 for scholarships for pupils enrolled in private schools. The Education and Science Ministry will receive BGN 163,890 earmarked for the payment of scholarships to pupils from state-financed schools.
