site.btaUPDATED Prime Minister Is Confident in Spetsov as Administrator to Oversee Lukoil's Operations in Bulgaria
The Council of Ministers Facebook page published a video from Saturday morning of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov saying that the important task ahead is to ensure the timely and normal delivery of oil, as well as its unhindered processing and distribution. The Prime Minister expressed confidence in Rumen Spetsov, the Executive Director of the National Revenue Agency, as special commercial administrator to oversee Russian oil company Lukoil's four operations in Bulgaria and in his ability to bring the necessary calm to the market.
Zhelyazkov stated: "The government had to do the best it could, and we did it—quietly, calmly, without fanfare, without getting involved in internal political dynamics. We showed that when we work effectively, with the support of the majority in Parliament, the result is clear."
The Prime Minister shared his hope that the Kremlin will listen to reason and end the war in Ukraine. He was adamant that as long as the aggression against Ukraine continues, sanctions imposed by the European Union and the United States will persist.
Spetsov was appointed as special commercial administrator to oversee Lukoil's operations in Bulgaria on Friday.
