Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Iotova took part in a ceremony marking the Day of Valour and the Bulgarian Armed Forces Day with the Bulgarian military contingent of NATO’s Kosovo Force (KFOR). Addressing the event, Iotova said: "You, the Bulgarian soldiers in KFOR, are a guarantee of security not only for Bulgaria but for the entire region, which unfortunately still cannot find the security and stability we all desire."
Iotova congratulated the military personnel on the occasion of the holiday and emphasized that for Bulgarians, St George’s Day is an even greater celebration as it honours the brave Bulgarian Army, which has recorded many victories in difficult battles throughout its centuries-old history.
Iotova was welcomed by KFOR Commander Major General Enrico Barduani. Also present were KFOR Deputy Commander Brigadier General Cahit Irican and the Commander of the Bulgarian contingent in Kosovo, Lieutenant Colonel Hristo Vasilev.
