Siblings Kalin and Julia Zlatkovi Win Balkan Cup Trophies for Season 2022/23

Siblings Kalin Zlatkov and Julia Zlatkova from the Ulen ski club won the 2022/23 season trophies of the FIS Cross-Country Balkan Cup. The Bulgarians accumulated most points for the overall standings of the competition which included slaloms in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Bulgaria. 

The final race within the Balkan Cup took place in Bansko on Friday. A total of 22 athletes from 9 countries partook in the women's slalom, 40 athletes from 12 countries - in the men's. 

Swiss Anina Zurbriggen won the women's race, while Zlatkova finished second and Luisa Bertani from Vitosha ski club also made it to the podium. Albanian Denni Xhepa scored best time in the men's competition with Australian Hugh Mcadam and Zlatkov finishing second and third.

The winners of the Balkan Cup seasonal trophies were personally awarded by Bulgarian Ski Federation (BFSki) President Tseko Minev. The Bansko slalom winners received their awards from BFSki Vice President Georgi Bobev, Georgian Ski Federation Vice President Patrick Lang, Albanian Ski Federation President Elvis Toci, Greek Ski Federation Vice President Giannis Marmarelis, and Croatian Ski Federation Miho Glavic.
