Bulgarian weightlifter Ivan Dimov won silver in the snatch in the men’s 65 kg category on the third competition day of the IWF 2025 World Championships in the Norwegian city of Forde. The Bulgarian lifter successfully recorded a lift of 137 kg. Dimov finished sixth in the overall standings with 300 kg.
Turkish veteran Muhammed Furkan Ozbek set a world record in the category with a total lift of 324 kg. He secured the win with a snatch of 145 kg and a clean and jerk of 179 kg.
On Saturday medals were contested in two weight categories — 65 kg for men and 58 kg for women.
Karlos Nasar is the next Bulgarian to compete at the Weightlifting Championship on Thursday night. The 2025 Championship concludes on October 11.
