- International Day for South-South Cooperation.
On this date in Bulgarian history:
- 1924: Sofia's St Alexander Nevsky Memorial Cathedral is consecrated.
- 1945: Higher Air Force School is established in Sofia. Moves to Vrazhdebna in 1946, then to Dolna Mitropolia in 1948.
- 1947: First international air service, between Sofia and Budapest, is launched.
- 1959: Diplomatic relations with Japan, severed on November 6, 1944, are restored.
- 1997: Ferry service linking Burgas with Novorossiysk (Russia) and Poti (Georgia) goes into operation.
