Bulgarian athletes won 13 medals on Tuesday, the second day of the BAUHAUS Down Syndrome World Championships Bulgaria 2026 in Sofia. This brings the country's total tally to 18 medals so far.

Bulgaria's rhythmic gymnasts won five medals on Tuesday. Michaela Rangelova won two gold medals with scores of 12.367 points for her hoop routine and 12.817 points for her ball routine. Alina Daniels won silver in the rope final after receiving a score of 9.750 points. Vasilena Bogdanova also ended the day with two medals. She won gold in the ball final with 13.883 points and bronze in the hoop final with 12.567 points.

Bulgaria's artistic gymnasts earned another six medals. Radena Angelova claimed the world title on the uneven bars with a score of 14.166 and secured a bronze medal in the vault final with 13.883 points. In the junior boys' competition, Nikolay Todorov became world champion in the floor exercise with 13.000 points. Radoslav Tonchev took the silver medal with a score of 11.966. In the men's competition, Emiliyan Kostadinov's performance on floor won him silver with 14.766 points. He also earned bronze for his rings routine with 14.600.

Alexander Asenov won the long jump title with a leap of 4.52 metres and a silver medal in the 100 metres after covering the distance in 13.34 seconds.

Nearly 400 athletes from 27 countries are competing in the Championships, which run until June 19. Bulgaria is represented by 20 athletes in athletics, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, tennis and table tennis. BTA is a media partner of the event.
