Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova attended the opening of the Golden Harvest Lovech 2026 Campaign in the village of Drenov near Lovech on Wednesday.

According to the head of State, the harvest tradition is passed down from generation to generation and reflects the Bulgarian people's rapport with the land and with bread.

She added that the harvest is the result of a long process that combines the diligence passed from previous generations with a commitment to the future.

"The harvest is not merely an agricultural process but the culmination of an entire life cycle n which people and the land come together, and where hard work raises the hope of a good harvest," the President said.

Iotova expressed her respect for agricultural producers and thanked both them and their families for their efforts.

She sees the presence at the opening of the harvesting campaign of officials representing government institutions, Parliament and local authorities as a guarantee of greater support and a better approach towards agriculture and farming.
