site.btaSoprano Rachel Willis-Sorensen to Perform with Sofia Philharmonic

American soprano Rachel Willis Sorensen will join Jonas Kaufmann for an operatic gala with the Sofia Philharmonic at Sofia’s NDK convention centre on May 12, said the Sofia Philharmonic Tuesday.

Willis-Sorensen is a winner of Operalia 2014, when she also won the Birgit Nilsson prize and the Zarzuela prize. Willis-Sorensen is among the most-renowned contemporary sopranos and is a favourite partner of Jonas Kaufmann. 

She has performed at the San Francisco Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, the Chicago Lyric Opera, the Glyndebourne Festival, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opernhaus Zurich, Metropolitan Opera, the Vienna State Opera and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.
