site.btaCybersecurity Capabilities Project Is in Advanced Implementation - Innovation Minister
A project titled "Enhancing national capabilities for coordination and response to cybersecurity incidents" is being implemented within the agreed timeframe and has reached an advanced physical and financial progress, Bulgarian Innovation and Digital Transformation Minister Ivan Vasilev said here on Friday.
He addressed Parliament, answering a question from Yordan Terziiski MP of Continue the Change about the implementation of the project, which is EU-grant-funded via the Development of Regions Programme 2021-2027.
Vasilev specified that the 24-month, EUR 82.758 million project started on November 6, 2025 and is due for completion on November 6, 2027. It followed 2025 decisions of the Cybersecurity Council for which a technological architecture of the national cybersecurity system has been adopted.
The Minister pointed out that the project activities comprise building the central components of the national cybersecurity infrastructure, setting up a protected shared information space, and upgrading the cybersecurity of key administrative authorities. Seven contracts for supply, installation and warranty maintenance of specialized hardware and software solutions have been concluded under the contract. All agreed supplies have already been executed, and hardware installations are underway.
Vasilev stressed that the remaining activities include technical finalization of the systems, their putting into service, functional tests, and final verification of outcomes. In his words, once the project is completed, a protected shared information space will be completed as part of the e-governance resources. Fifty administrative authorities will be provided with high-level network and information security for 30,000 terminal equipment items.
