President Rumen Radev welcomed the participants in the national morning gymnastics tournament on Saturday, which was held in parallel with the "Presidential Test", part of the "Practice Sports with the President" - an initiative under his auspices, the President’s press centre said.
"Without dedication to the mission for the full physical and spiritual development of young people in Bulgaria, it will be difficult to achieve ambitious national goals and the nation's progress," said in his address to the children and youth of Yambol.
More than 500 students from across the country performed their routines in the gymnastics tournament and then competed in the "Presidential Test", which gave children and young people the opportunity to demonstrate their physical abilities. The aim of the event was to promote an active and healthy lifestyle among young people.
Sports Minister Vessela Letcheva also participated in the event. She said that it is a duty of every authority in Bulgaria to make sports a way of life for the country’s citizens.
The two sporting events were being held simultaneously for the second time in Yambol, the first time they took place in October 2022. The morning gymnastics tournament is organized by Yambol Municipality at the initiative of Deputy Mayor Encho Keryazov and with the assistance of the Vasil Levski National Sports Academy.
